Are you very concerned about your appearance? Do you wish you could worry about those concerns less? We are testing a computerized treatment for body dysmorphic disorder, a disorder characterized by a severe preoccupation with a perceived flaw in one's appearance. Participants are compensated for their participation. The study is completed entirely online and over the phone. Participants will be assigned to one of two computerized treatments for appearance concerns. One treatment will help participants to modify my thoughts to manage my appearance concerns and the second treatment will guide me through relaxation techniques to help me manage negative emotions. Each treatment involves eight 15-25-minute online sessions that will take place over 4 weeks (2 sessions per week). Throughout the study period, participants will be asked to fill out questionnaires in which they will answer questions about their mood and behaviors.
