Built from the period of 1876-1899 quarter end of the 19th Century, this bed is in great shape. Inside is the original wire that would hold the straw mattress. It takes a 3/4 mattress as people were shorter then. It is a great conversation piece to own. It has been in a pet free, smoke free house and then an apt for the last 14 years. It has a few scratches and one of the carved floral pieces has a tiny bit missing. I will put more close ups soon. But right now it is sitting where it cannot fully open out. I am moving out of the US and that is the only reason I am selling it. I searched for years for this bed. Of course, no one has slept in it probably since the 19th century. It is heavy and will need two people to move it.
